Visuals Galore: Issey Miyake

By far one of the more creative collections from this season came from Dai Fujiwara under the label Issey Miyake. Fujiwara brought patterns after patterns to the runway. There didn't seem to be any logical combinations present, and that was one of the most appealing things about the show. It was messy, illogical, and eye-catching!

Here comes the extreme! Normally, I'd be totally against anything this messy. Here, I can't help but sit back and enjoy it. There's a sense of tranquility to the chaos that Fujiwara has thrown together in these three looks. We're definitely seeing a plaid fetish in full force! Notice the plaid patches thrown onto the toe of the shoes on the left... Definitely plaid gone overboard, but in a good way! Or at least a fun way...

Double the pleasure, double the fun! Cute fashionista by day, rugged Jedi by night. I can't see the peaked-hood look hitting the streets anything soon, but the colours that Fujiwara uses definitely will be. Pastels are huge right now and have been for a while, and this look is no exception. The angular texture of the Jedi hood is exquisite, as well.

Another hooded look... More Sith than Jedi, however. Also more likely to hit the streets soon. The detailing around the lapel is amazing. Very simple, yet adds so much character to the look.

It seems as though my obsession with big, chunky sweaters is back. But did it ever really leave? The colours that Fujiwara has put into this sweater are stunning. I love the extra-chunky knit, high-contrast white that was used for the detailing of the sweater as well.

Last and DEFINITELY least... Enter the modern day Big Bird. It's comforting to know that even high fashion designers have their off days!
