Marc Jacobs. What's the first thing I think of when it comes to him? YUM! And I'm not talking about his clothes. But... I guess I could also be talking about his clothes? I find Marc's take on things interesting... He's able to keep things conservative, while also taking it to the extreme. And he often does so without any clean line dividing the two. I can't wait to see what he's going to bring us this year! In the meantime... Here are a few of my favourites from his 2010 collections.
Marc is not one to shy away from throwing in a splash of colour... Or should I say 'splashes' of colour. Nor is he one to say no to a fun pattern. Just by glancing at these four looks, it's really easy to see just how diverse his style is. He can rock everything from a nicely tailored suit (worn in a casual way, naturally) to shorts with sock and shoes... The last is a look not to be worn lightly. Or without knowledge of how to pull it off. Ever. I give Marc two thumbs up, however!
Here are a couple of looks from the more casual end of the spectrum. Both would be excellent on a hot summer's day. The shorts on the left really show Marc's fearless attitude. No one else would be able to bring such a retro--and I might add fugly--pattern to high fashion and pull it off. Marc seems to do so effortlessly... Again and again! Oh! And on the right is a sleeveless CHUNKY sweater. Yes please!!!
Wanna dress it up a little bit more? No sweat! While the look on the left would moreso be worn on a day-to-day basis, the look on the right could be worn to a more dressy event. Or, you could wear it just because. Either way, Marc shows that he's not all play. He works for his meals. And he works hard!... Gimme a moment!
I'm a sucker for a nice cardigan. These three looks show the diversity of this kind of sweater... We go from casual, to semi-formal, to formal, respectively. I also need to add that I LOVE the cardigan on the left. I'm sure I could name a few people who would call it a 'grandpa sweater'... Let me just say that I would KILL for a grandpa who was that stylish!
